Cycle Asia Philippines 2013 (Late Upload)

Cycle Asia has been conducting cycling events for some time in Singapore. Last November 2013, finally they held their first event in the Philippines. If you haven't noticed, cycling in all forms (road, mountain, folding, fixies, etc.) has been on the rise recently. Cycle Asia took a notice of it and decided to come to our shores and conduct one of the best cycling event in the Metro in recent years. As biking fanatics (folding bike, to be exact), me and my fiance decided to join this said event since this is history in the making. :)

For this event, I used my Brompton London Limited Edition S2L and my fiance used her Modified Tern Link D8.

Left to Right: Modified Tern Link D8 (8-speed), Brompton London Limited Edition S2L (2-speed)

My lovely fiance getting hyped before the event.

I was getting excited myself for our first cycling event together. :)

Just before the start. People can't wait for our (folding bike batch) to start.

This would not be Bitecycle if there is nothing to eat and drink. This is our post-race meal which includes rice porridge (lugaw) with boiled egg, "sago't gulaman" drink and buko pandan iced candy. Not your best choice for breakfast but it tasted well for me.

In terms of preparation of the venue and route, i have no complaints, however I would just recommend that the next cycling events should provide a water station midway the race route since during the ride, my fiance got really thirsty and we already consumed our packed water. We only replenished our thirst after reaching the finish line of the 20 km ride. Nevertheless, we were both happy upon receiving our finishers medal and we would definitely join their next cycling event.

Overall, this event was great. The organizers did well for their first time here in the Philippines.
