Seafood Island
Seafood Island is a Filipino seafood restaurant under Red Crab group that specializes on food boodles. What is a boodle? A boodle is a large collection of food placed on top of banana leaves for a group of people to share.
What we had during our boodle feast was the one called "Tali Beach" boodle. It is good for 3-4 persons but seems to be just enough for 2 very hungry people. :)
Our Tali Beach boodle was composed of barbecued pork, chicken inasal (which was replaced by grilled pork belly as the chicken was not available at that time), grilled squid, steamed crab and shrimps, and broiled tahong and clams. We asked the waiter to mix the rice with bagoong and clams meat and it was really delicious!
This boodle was beautifully arranged in a bamboo and it looked liked a raft. Up close, it looks amazing and it reminded me of the sun, salty sea and the golden sand between my toes. The look will make you want to eat it with your bare hands (which we did!). Never mind the people who stare at us while we munch on the rice and yummy viands with gusto. The bamboo arrangement seemed to be a hindrance when you tried to reach the food, but we refused to let the waiter take the bamboo out since we liked the full experience of what they called the boodle fight.
If you crave for Filipino style food and want some twist, I recommend this seafood boodle.
