"Stark's" Latest Upgrade 2014
It has been a while since I have updated this blog. So here comes one of a few updates.
Firstly, I would like to show the latest upgrades done on my Tern Verge X10 folding bike.
Even though the Tern Verge X10 come with 20" lightweight "road bike" style wheelset (Kinetix Pro), the rest and most of the bike is set-up with "MTB" specs. This enabled Tern to create a lightweight bike that does not compromise on function.
Last year, I decided to customize "Stark" and make it lighter by installing several carbon products such as handle bar, crank and saddle.
This year, I decided to turn "Stark" into a worthy road bike for me to use in cycling races and events.
For the "drivetrain" to be used, I decided to go with the new SRAM Force 22 (brifters, RD, cassete and chain). I wont go with the specifics in this post but other upgrades included Controltech stem and a Zip dropbar.
As of now, I have only ridden my bike once and it was during Bike for Health 2. The first ride post-upgrade was smooth overall. There were only a couple of chain issues wherein there were instances the chain might have slipped from the cassette.
Watch out for a more detailed post on upgrading your Tern bike in the near future. Keep Terning guys. 👍
