BREAKFAST AT ANTONIO'S
It has been almost 2 years since we last traveled to Tagaytay. Since Iya has something to do there, we decided to hit two birds with one stone. She can do her duty and at the same time we can have our long overdue out of town trip.
Since we arrived early in Tagaytay, we decided to stop over the famous “Breakfast at Antonio’s”. I have been reading good things about this restaurant. Thus, I was dying to try out some of their meals.
If you look at their menu for the first time, you’ll be overwhelmed for sure. There are lot of details cramped in a 2 page menu. Some pictures of their dishes would also be helpful. Thus, we decided to ask for some recommendations from the waitress and she was happy to offer us their best sellers.
Before going into what we ordered, I am going to commend on the restaurant’s ambiance. The place is refreshing and has an excellent view of the lake (Taal Lake).
Iya ordered a Cafe Latte to wake her up since she needed a boost. I don’t remember her saying anything special about it though.
On the other hand, I got the hot chocolate since I’ve been hearing a lot of orders from the other tables. After I took my first sip, Iya immediately saw me smiling from ear to ear. It was one of the best chocolate drink that I have tasted in my life. It has a perfect balance of deep cocoa taste and sweetness. I almost ordered another round if it wasn’t for my fear of diabetes that stopped me.
Iya ordered the Homemade Pork Sausages with garlic rice and scrambled eggs. She gave me a portion to try out. I think it’s tasty enough but nothing that will blow anyone's tastes buds.
I decided to get the Homemade Corned Beef. I was actually intrigued by how the piece of beef looked. It had almost no resemblance to the usual corned beef you get from the can or the meat shop. The taste is actually better compared to the pork sausages. The experience of eating a different take to the usual corned beef can be fun. I would definitely recommend this to other first time diners.
